A New Shop in the Klub
Pioneers in smart convenience retail network, The New Shop joins the Klub.
We always enjoy welcoming new ideas and brands into the Klub, making our passion our profession worked out great for us. Our mindset is always founder-first & we are always intrigued when something fresh enters the market. That is what happened when we first connected with The New Shop (TNS), a fast-growing smart convenience retail network; with brick-and-mortar and online stores that are open 24*7 hours, serving freshly prepared food & beverages, FMCG products, essential services & instant hyperlocal deliveries. The New Shop is India's 24/7 convenience commerce brand for the world.
The New Shop is all about creating the convenience of regular 24*7 convenience stores by driving consumer experience through data. Here are all the things that set The New Shop apart from the average convenience stores you know of:
- TNS stores will be situated in high-traffic locations such as transit points (railway stations, bus stations, petrol pumps, highways, tourist spots, metros, and airports), residential areas, office complexes, and educational institutions. So literally a short walk away from everywhere you could be.
- Currently, the company has 55 stores presence in Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Indore; with mass-scale partnerships with Adani airports, Cube Highways, Indian Railways.
- Through their delivery app; these stores also double up as online stores for selling need and intent-focused products within walking distance or with a delivery promise of 15-30 minutes. The app is available on Android and iOS.
- Their data-driven selection of products and services maximizes sales through both offline & online channels. Talk about understanding you and your needs in real-time.
- And to end the list on a rich note, every TNS store has a café that serves delicious food round the clock, a dessert section with bakery and ice creams, a gifting section, and need-based consumer products and services such as cash delivery, printing, courier delivery, car wash and many more coming.
The brand raised funding to the tune of $2.5 Million in 2020-21 over three rounds that include investors like Vishesh Khurana, Saahil Goel, Akshay Ghulati, Gautam Kapoor (Founders of Shiprocket), Abhijeet Pai (Partner at 9Unicorns Fund), Sreeram Reddy Vanga (General Partner at Hustle), American Shark Kevin Harrington, Huddle Accelerator, Anthill Ventures, AngelList India, Let’s Venture and various HNIs.
We are pleased to share that Klub recently funded the future of convenience stores, The New Shop. After equity fundraising rounds, The New Shop opted for RBF to finance their high-ROI use cases through Klub. Here is what Astha Almast, Co-founder, The New Shop shared with us while sharing why the brand decided to raise capital through Revenue Based Financing:
Many startups & founders end up diluting a lot of their ownership in the process of trading equity for necessary capital requirements, which is not a sustainable option anymore. The New Shop aims to utilize Klub’s flexible growth capital to kickstart its robust expansion plans, such as investing in capital expenditure for opening The New Shop stores at tier 1 airports and other mass transit hubs. This capital will also be used for franchise marketing/advertising that contributes to conversion rates and directly translates into business growth.
Subhashish Bhadra, Director at Klub talked about TNS’s phenomenal subscription by our patron community:
We love sharing stories of nifty innovation and great execution. And now back to work so we discover more ways to search for innovation & fund its growth.
